Update June 11, 2010: All the slides from my presentation at Indian Crest are now posted here for your review. Thank you to all the students who attended the presentation at Indian Crest Middle School on May 10, 2010. You were amazing. You sat through an hour and a half presentation, raised your hands, asked a ton of questions, and made my day. Your enthusiasm was infectious.

Mr. Jack Althouse,
I’m a freshman at the Souderton High School, and I saw both of your presentations two years ago, in which you mentioned the same theories as above. One thing that I noticed was different, is that you didn’t mention sulfuric acid, and the Candelabra of Andes. There was a stone of granite somewhere near the pyramids, which was surrounded by limestone I believe. Could you explain to me what your theory was on that? I’d like to look into that myself. Also, if it isn’t too much trouble, since I was not able to see this presentation, could you send me the CAD files on the Middle Pyramid as well?
Thanks much,
Joshua Freed

Hi Joshua,
Thank you very much for your comments. The Giza Pyramids are made of different types of stones. Here are some books you should check out when researching the Pyramids:
The Pyramids and Temples of Gizeh by WM Flinders Petrie, Elibron Classics by Field and Tuer London 2007
Finger-Prints of the Gods by Graham Hancock, Three Rivers Press, New York, 1995
The Giza Power Plant by Christopher Dunn, Bear and Company, Sante Fe, NM 1998
Petrie did a thorough survey of the Giza Plateau back in the late 1800’s that set the gold standard for all data concerning the Pyramids and surrounding structures. Hancock does a marvelous job speculating on the theories behind the pyramids. Dunn has an intriguing theory on the functional purpose of the Great Pyramid that is finally getting media attention. Unfortunately the media seems to be warping Dunn’s practical theories of how and why the pyramids were built into “The aliens built them” conclusion. Why can’t some people stomach the possibility that humankind acheived an advanced level of civilization and technology thousands of years ago without ET’s help? Petrie hints it. Hancock proclaims it. Dunn explains it.
To answer your question about the granite stone, I think I was referring to the granite lined chamber inside the Great Pyramid. Read Dunn’s thoughts on its function and let me know what you think. The chamber is surrounded by a sand buffer and encased in the limestone/sandstone construction of the pyramid. It is an amazing place to be. You have to visit Egypt before you are too old to climb and experience this marvel.
I posted recently the powerpoint presentation I did for Indian Crest. I left out the theories about the “key” to the shaft of the Khafre pyramid to reduce the presentation time. I did this because I have been getting many questions during the presentations. I don’t want to cut the students short. I figure I can come back and talk about the Key after Dr. Hawass announces he found the shaft and ramp tunnel system under the Giza Pyramids mentioned in Second Sight. 🙂
I posted the sulphuric acid experiment on my facebook page. You can go to my photos section and flip back four or five pages. You should see them there.
Thanks for being patient about my replying. My architectural practice has been suffering like everyone else’s these last few months. I have had to concentrate on it’s operations more. Also now the book is out and we are starting to place it in stores. It is a very exciting and busy time around here. Certainly not boring. And now a new opportunity to possibly discover a new pyramid just opened up thanks to some very special friends.
Glad you are out there Joshua. I look forward to your next post.
