I am preparing for the speaking events at Indian Crest Middle School on May 10th, 2010 and Jarrettown United Methodist Church on May 16th, 2010. Part of my talks will deal with the 2012 speculations and how Binary Star theory might play a role. I am seeing a lot more material showing up on the Internet about binary star systems. There seems to be growing consensus on the possibility our Sun is in a companion orbit with another star. A Brown Dwarf Star seems to be the favored candidate.
Here is a good link if you want to read some of the speculation: Getting WISE About Nemesis
A number of students asked if I could provide a reading list of the books I use. I am big on using good old fashioned, hold em in your hands, mark them up because they are yours, BOOKS. (Don’t use toilet paper to mark pages especially if you have a Golden Retriever)
I don’t trust the accuracy of the Internet much. Some folks seem to be posting falsified archaeological finds on the Internet and doing a poor job of doctoring their images. I was looking at a page describing the Italian pyramids that are supposed to be near Milan. The article said there had been an expedition made to the site. Google Earth photos were included showing the locations of the Pyramids and how they were the same size as Giza. I hunted for a several minutes trying to verify the article. None of the site photos matched the streets and hills on my Google Earth image. Okay not exhaustive research, granted. I guess I have to go to Milan someday.
Anyway the Google Earth image looked like it had been doctored. I plotted the coordinates shown on the bottom of the Google Earth image. Guess where the coordinates sent me? Right into the Mediterranean Sea! I guess the author started with an image of blank ocean and pasted in their terrain photos. Cute.
Even Google Earth has been caught scrubbing images for various reasons, such as sensitive government sites.
My main source of information when researching is going to the archaeological site, finding people who have lived near the site all their lives and collect every scrap of information I can. My second source of information is going to a library such as the University of Penn Library in Philadelphia. And my third source of information is my own stash of books piling up around me and my very patient business partner Matt. My fourth is all the leads you folks send me. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don’t. Either way a lead is a lead. Thank you.
Here are some of the books I am using to prepare for the upcoming talks this month. I linked each volume to Amazon.com in case you want to hunt for a used copy. All my books are used. It is a cheap way to build a great library. All I need is a place to put them…
Atlantis in America
The Pyramids and Temples of Gizeh
Fingerprints of the Gods
America B.C.
Giza Power Plant
Berossos and Manetho
A Forest of Kings
I might have a couple more books to add to the list later. I’ll update.
The SAVE students are getting ready for their next trip to Tortola, BVI. I was so sad about not going this time. I hope you guys have a great trip and every success with the important environmental work you will be doing. Maybe I will be privileged to go with you on the next trip. Sigh.
When I get depressed, I draw. In case you didn’t go to school with me (way back) these furry guys are called Fleagles.
Now I feel a little better.
Talk to you soon. And thanks to everybody writing in on FaceBook and the Websites. I really appreciate all your kind comments. If you haven’t checked out the story, here are the first four chapters again:
Second Sight First Four Chapters
And if you want to get a signed copy from me, here you go:

Thanks for reading and I hope I see you on the 10th or the 16th! The 10th is a closed event for only the students who attend the school. The 16th is open to anybody who wants to come. There is no charge.
